CanSkate is our basic learn-to-skate program intended for anyone looking to gain or perfect their basic skating skills (kids, teens and adults). The sessions are led by coaches and program assistants who accompany groups of skaters on their journey of learning. This program is open to skaters who are 4 years old or older (Please note that parents cannot accompany their children on the ice.)
CSA certified helmets are mandatory for the CanSkate sessions until the skater has completed the level 5 badge.
Without such helmet, the skater will not be allowed on the ice.
The CanSkate program is built to be a fun and friendly environment and includes basic skills for all ice sports. The sessions are dynamic and aim for movement through the whole period. It is divided in three area of learning: balance, control and agility. Skaters receive ribbons and badges as they accomplish the elements.
