About Us
The Hull figure skating club was founded in 1960 by Philippe Cholette, member of the Cholette family, deeply invested in sport in Hull. It was then incorporated and became the property of its shareholders, Robert Guertin amongst them. The shareholders assembly was held annually to elect the board of members to manage the club. The Hull arena, now known as Robert-Guertin, became the first head office of the club.
In 1961, the club became the 585th figure skating club affiliated to the canadian figure skating association, now known as Skate Canada. The Ottawa Minto club sponsored the affiliation of the Hull figure skating club.
In 1975, the club dissolved its charter of shareholders and incorporated under the name Club de patinage artistique de Hull inc. The board of members continues to lead activities and an executive committee is created.
Towards the end of the 80's, the club participates in the development of the Sport-Études program for the Outaouais region.
At the beginning of the 2000's, the administration moved the head office to the Cholette arena and in 2010, the club celebrated its 50th anniversary.
During the season 2019-2020, the club was preparing to celebrate its 60th anniversary. Activities and memorabilia were offered to the members to celebrate this joyful event. Unfortunately the biggest event of the year, the annual year end show, had to be post-poned following the interruption of activities due to the covid pandemic. Activities were resumed after the pandemic and the club paid a belated homage to its 60 years when it held its postponed celebratory show in April 2023. The show Év "Hull" ution, celebrating the evolution of music, movies, technologies in the last 60 years.
CPA Hull is a club that continues to support skaters and families through countless hours of work by its volunteers, its passionate coaches and this is fueled by the smiles of his skaters young and old.
